why linen?
linen is a natural textile that made from the fibers of the flax plant. all of the flax fibres for s&g garments and goods are grown in belgium. the linen for the scarves is woven in a mill just north of kolkata, india and the linen for the garments is woven in belgium and naturally dyed in an ethical small mill in los angeles, california. in order to create garments that are built to last, the fabric must hold up over time. because of the structure of the cellulose fiber, which is the part of the plant that they use to weave, linen fibers are incredibly strong and durable, leading to longevity in the fabric and improved softness and texture with time. linen has dimension and personality in the weave which adds to the individualism of each piece. it is antibacterial, breathable, perfect to wear year round and truly drapes like no other. just an all around impeccable material that you will feel really, really good in.
